Ronchi di Pietro: when wine has a soul
Our winery has his roots in a territory destroyed by wars, where Pietro managed to change it and to make it fruitful. Franco, Lina, Fulvio e Dania with their sons go on keeping alive the cultural traditions, where values like family, language, love for its own job are the backbone.
The quality of grapes comes from knowing how to farm the land, your own land, its secrets are open only to those who were committed to it for generations, receiving in turn its precious fruit.
Today our winery combines knowledge of the past with rigorous quality control and ongoing investment in new plantings, in order to achieve ever-higher levels of excellence.
Our winery is named after the little white church of San Pietro, built in 1522 as a place of worship and rest for pilgrims. Our family restored it and adopted it as a symbol of our tradition. Consequently, we inserted the lozenge decorative motif and crest of our beloved little church, in the Ronchi di Pietro logo, along with the symbol of the city of Cividale, ancient Forum Iulii founded by Julius Caesar, after which the region of Friuli is named.
